I’m Freddy, a wildlife and nature photographer from Germany, mainly working in Europe and Africa.
My path into photography started at home: spending countless hours in the forests and mountains around where I grew up, searching for birds, deer, and anything that moved. Germany is also where I learned the technical and creative basics but it's still a place whose nature I enjoy very much.
A major part of my connection to wildlife also comes from my time in South Africa, where I trained as a certified Field Guide (Game Ranger). Living and learning there taught me a lot about animal behaviour, ecosystems, tracking, and how to read the landscape.
My photographic style is based on movement and exploration. I prefer to walk, observe, and actively search for moments rather than waiting in one spot. Whether on foot in the mountains, on long road trips through Scandinavia, or on safari drives in Africa, I enjoy the process of looking, following signs, and trying to understand what might happen next.
What I love about photography is the hunt for special moments: scenes you only find when you’re present, patient, and curious, and photography helps me find and enjoy those moments even more.
